Well, the CUPE 3903 GMM apparently overwhelming bounced York's latest offer (details of which are actually now available here). However, the meeting seems to have suggested that the sides are not far apart. CUPE 3903 is asking for stronger job security for Unit 2 (contract faculty) and stronger language on minimum guaranteed funding for Unit 1 (TAs) and Unit 3 (GAs). We'll see whether York has offered its best offer possible, or if they have some more room to maneuver, over the next few days. The important thing to note, though, is that the collective bargaining process is finally starting to really work.
