What a tool. Where's this strike? This time last year I was walking a picket line in Regina.

York University in north Toronto. Where I'm technically still a student (although, as I'm working on my dissertation and teaching at a different university, I don't spend a lot of time on campus).

This is, from what I hear, not an isolated incident, unfortunately. It's just the one that happens to have been caught on video. Picketers are now being asked to bring video cameras to the lines to collect more footage of these incidents.

I get why drivers are frustrated. But I don't get why they would punch the accelerator when there are people standing that close to their vehicle.

Because they are bullies at heart, and the accelerator gives them a way to fight the frustration, in their short sighted rage.

Maybe, but bullies tend to only provoke confrontations when they have overwhelming force on their side. A picket line is a bad place to pick a fight as there are always police liasons, if not actual police, nearby.
